Eid al-Adha (Bakrid) is one of the two major Islamic festivals. It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham's) willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of submission to Allah's command. At the last moment, Allah replaced Ismail with a ram, honoring Ibrahim's devotion.
